IMEI Verification Tool

Verify any phone before you buy

Structural checksum validation, GSMA device identification via the Communications Authority of Kenya, and Guard Eye's community stolen register -- all in one free check.

Honest disclosure: No website can access operator blacklists. A "clean" result here does not mean a phone is not stolen -- only that it was not reported here. Always verify with the seller, dial *#06# yourself, and confirm with your network operator.

How to find your IMEI

Dial *#06#

Open the phone dialer and type *#06#. The 15-digit IMEI appears on screen instantly. This works on every phone.

Settings

Android: Settings > About Phone > IMEI. iPhone: Settings > General > About > IMEI.

SIM tray or box label

The IMEI is printed on the sticker under the battery, on the SIM tray, or on the phone's retail box.

CA Kenya SMS shortcode

Text your 15-digit IMEI to 1555 (free). You will receive a response on whether the IMEI is valid and the device model. This is the official Communications Authority service.

Dial *#06# on any phone to see its IMEI. You can also text it to 1555 for free via the Communications Authority of Kenya.

Report a stolen phone

Add a stolen handset to Guard Eye's community register. A police OB number is required to prevent false reports. This is Guard Eye's own list -- make sure to also report to your operator (Safaricom: 100, Airtel: 100, Telkom: 100) and the police.
