Guard Eye ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Guard Eye collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects your information — including data obtained through Google API Services.
Guard Eye is an Android anti-theft and phone security application developed by Guard Eye. Our app helps users protect their devices by capturing evidence (photos, video, audio, and GPS location) when unauthorized access is detected, and delivering that evidence to the phone owner.
Guard Eye uses Google API Services — specifically Google Sign-In, the Gmail API, and the Google Drive API — to authenticate users and deliver evidence securely. This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the Guard Eye mobile application and the Guard Eye website (www.guardmyphone.com).
The following data is generated and stored locally on your device when a security event is triggered (e.g., failed unlock attempt, SIM change, snatch detection):
If you subscribe to updates on our website, we collect:
Guard Eye accesses Google user data through Google API Services to provide its core security functionality. Below is a complete and transparent disclosure of what data we access, why we access it, and how it is used.
| Google API Scope | Purpose | Data Accessed |
|---|---|---|
email profile (Google Sign-In) |
Authenticate and identify the device owner | Your Google account email address, name, and profile picture |
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send |
Send security alert emails containing evidence directly from your Gmail account to your configured alert email address | Ability to send emails on your behalf. We do not read, modify, or delete any of your emails. |
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file |
Upload captured evidence (photos, videos) to your Google Drive for cloud backup | Ability to create files in your Google Drive. We only create new files; we do not read, modify, or delete any existing files in your Drive. |
Guard Eye uses the Gmail API exclusively to send security alert emails from your Gmail account to your own configured alert email address when a security event is triggered. These emails contain:
We do not read, scan, index, or analyze the contents of your Gmail inbox, sent mail, drafts, or any other email data.
Guard Eye uses the Google Drive API exclusively to upload security evidence files (photos and videos captured during security events) to a dedicated folder in your Google Drive. This provides cloud backup so evidence is preserved even if the device is factory reset or destroyed.
We do not access, read, modify, or delete any pre-existing files in your Google Drive. We only create new files within a Guard Eye–specific folder.
Guard Eye uses Google Sign-In exclusively to authenticate your identity and obtain authorization to access the Gmail and Google Drive APIs on your behalf. Your Google profile information (name, email, profile picture) is used solely to display your account information within the app.
All data collected or accessed by Guard Eye is used strictly for the following purposes:
Guard Eye does not share your personal data or Google user data with third parties, except in the following limited circumstances:
We do not transfer, share, or disclose Google user data to any third parties, except as required by law or with your explicit consent. Google user data accessed via the Gmail API and Google Drive API is processed solely on your device and transmitted only between your device and Google's servers using Google's secure APIs.
All evidence data (photos, videos, location data) captured by Guard Eye is stored locally on your device. We do not operate central servers that store your personal evidence data. Evidence is sent directly from your device to your email via the Gmail API and/or uploaded to your personal Google Drive account.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:
Guard Eye keeps authorized Google API client credentials confidential. OAuth tokens granted to Guard Eye are stored only on your device and are not shared with any third party.
Evidence data stored on your device remains there until you manually delete it, clear the app data, or uninstall the app. Guard Eye does not automatically delete captured evidence.
Evidence uploaded to your Google Drive remains in your Drive until you delete it. You have full control over this data through your Google Drive account.
Security alert emails sent via the Gmail API appear in your Gmail Sent folder. You can delete these at any time through your Gmail account.
You can revoke Guard Eye's access to your Google account at any time:
Revoking access will immediately stop Guard Eye from being able to send emails via Gmail or upload files to Google Drive on your behalf. Previously sent emails and uploaded files will remain in your Google account unless you manually delete them.
To delete all data associated with Guard Eye:
If you have subscribed to updates on our website, you may request deletion of your email subscription data by contacting us at the email address below.
You have the following rights regarding your data:
Guard Eye's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Specifically, Guard Eye complies with the following Limited Use requirements:

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where feasible, notify users through the app or by email.
